  • Volunteers Make It All Happen!
We couldn’t do this without you, and we’re thrilled to have you on board. Let’s make it FUN out there!

    A Few Quick Notes:

    • Bringing a Friend? If your shift is “full” but you want to bring someone to help, go for it! We’ll find room for them.

    • Want to Stay Longer? Feel free to sign up for multiple shifts, like spending the whole day at one aid station or marshal spot. Just make sure to register for all the time slots.

    • Mix It Up! You’re welcome to sign up in different areas, as long as you can make it between shifts. For example, start with packet pick-up in Ovando, then head to an aid station on the 80-mile course, and finish with cleanup.

    As a Thank-You:

    All volunteers will receive:

    • A 2024 bandana and/or another special keepsake.

    • A complimentary bagged lunch from the Stray Bullet and a drink ticket to use at the finish area after your shifts.

    • Coffee and morning snacks at the check-in area before your shift.

    • The unforgettable experience of supporting the only women’s gravel race in the country alongside an incredible group of racers and fellow Banditas!

    What to Bring:

    • A chair for comfort.

    • Warm layers, rain gear, and cold-weather clothing.

    • Extra snacks, water, and bear spray for safety.

    • Your good vibes (and maybe some music, costumes, or signs to cheer everyone on!).

Starting in 2025, MT Alpha is fully running The Dusty Bandita, and we’re so excited to do it.

MT Alpha is a non-profit organization based out of Missoula, MT. We are a women+’s and girl’s cycling organization dedicated to getting more women, non-binary cyclists, and youth on bikes. MT Alpha is a big part of the Missoula community - we first started with about 12 adult members in 2012, and now have over 180 members (juniors and adults)!

MT Alpha was also the first to start a youth girls cycling program in the area, ages 7-17. After this, many have remained on MT Alpha to help coach and ride with the adult race or club team— and a few have even raced the Bandita. The entire MT Alpha team has learned bike skills, trail etiquette, and camaraderie; riding confidently on their own and with friends.

MT Alpha Cycling’s Mission: “MT Alpha Cycling is a club dedicated to getting more identifying women, girls, and non-binary people on bikes. We focus on cultivating skills, confidence, and competition through clinics, group rides, training, and race support.”
