What to Bring

Be prepared and self sufficient. There are aid stations, but you never know. We recommend being over-prepared to have options on hand.

Temperature: “Wait 5 minutes and the weather will change.” Temperatures in this area average a HIGH of ~70 degrees F, and a LOW of 35-40 degrees F. BUT, it could also be snowing… You just never know. It could be hot, cold, sunny, cloudy, rainy, snowy, dry, muddy, windy, calm. Or all of the above.

REQUIRED ITEMS:

  • Bear Spray - Must be carried on you. In your pocket, or a designated bear spray holster. Do not tape/attach to bike as it can explode. You can purchase bear spray at the Blackfoot Angler shop in Ovando, or other outdoor stores in Missoula or Seeley .

  • Map - print off the course map and put in your pocket and/or download to your bike computer or cellphone (there is limited to NO cell service available)

  • Cellphone - Must be carried on you. This is for safety. There is limited to NO cell service available on course or in Ovando, but your SOS feature can help if needed in an emergency

  • Helmet and Flat Kit (tubes, patch kit, bike tool, tire wrench, stem if you’re running tubeless, CO2/bike pump)

RECOMMENDED ITEAMS:

  • At least 2 water bottles

  • Electrolytes, snacks (aid stations available, but you can never have too many snacks?)

  • Gloves, knee/arm warmers

  • Light jacket/rain protective jacket

  • Sunscreen

  • Sunglasses

No dogs. Or cats.
